Video installation, 13 min. (loop). Video projection, bed, bedding, synthetic fabric poster, paper poster, classical guitar, ukulele, guitar hangers, blanket, 2 pillows, plant, wooden nightstand, books, and a reading lamp.

REST is a video installation examining memory, identity, and consciousness. The work explores the tension between personal human experience and collective visual culture, viewing consciousness as a dynamic space that continuously absorbs and reconfigures information. Throughout the video, personal and private imagery merges intensely with broader cultural, public, and political material. The montage attempts to simulate the stream of human consciousness, generating connections between images drawn from television commercials and films from the 1950s and 60s, home archive footage of strangers gathered from the internet, educational broadcasts, erotic films, and video recordings from the artist’s own family archive. These layers create sharp transitional moments and a sense of sensory overload. The work moves between dream and reality, between private and collective space, between deep intimacy and a sense of alienation.

Viewers enter the space through a black curtain into a darkened room where the video is projected on the wall. The bedroom from the recordings has been rebuilt inside the gallery. The video plays as a continuous loop. Viewers watch from the same position the figure in the video occupies.
